Manager, Transport Planning & Business Improvement

Responsibilities

• Transportation Resource Planning
• Manage planning and scheduling of transportation resources across all business units.
• Optimise allocation of:
• Vehicles
• Drivers
• Transportation crews
• Specialised equipment
• External transportation providers
• Maximise utilisation of internal transportation resources.
• Reduce dependency on subcontracted transportation providers.
• Identify opportunities for resource sharing across business units.
• Resource Visibility & Utilisation
• Develop and maintain a centralised resource planning framework.
• Establish visibility of:
• Vehicle capacity
• Vehicle utilisation
• Driver utilisation
• Route efficiency
• External vendor usage
• Produce daily, weekly and monthly utilisation reports.
• Implement forecasting and capacity planning processes.
• Business Improvement
• Review and document current planning processes.
• Identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Standardise planning workflows.
• Introduce best-practice planning methodologies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across transport operations.
• Data, Reporting & Analytics
• Develop KPI reporting and operational dashboards.
• Monitor:
• Vehicle utilisation
• Revenue per truck
• Cost per trip
• Driver productivity
• Fleet productivity
• External trucking spends
• Produce management reporting for senior leadership.
• Digital Transformation
• Lead the transition from spreadsheet-based planning to a digital planning environment.
• Evaluate transportation management solutions and planning tools.
• Work with business stakeholders to define system requirements.
• Support implementation of future transportation management systems.
• Leverage Excel, Power BI, Power Automate and related technologies to drive automation.
• Stakeholder Management
• Partner closely with managers across:
• Relocations
• Workspace
• Fine Art
• Records Management
• Asset Lifecycle Management
• Balance competing operational priorities.
• Ensure transportation resources are allocated effectively across all business units.

Requirements

• Essential
• 7-10 years of experience in transportation planning, logistics planning, fleet optimisation or resource planning
• Strong analytical capability
• Advanced Excel proficiency
• Experience working in a multi-site or multi-resource environment
• Proven track record improving operational efficiency
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Preferred
• Power BI
• Power Automate
• Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
• Fleet Management Systems
• Process improvement methodologies
• Lean or Continuous Improvement experience

Role Purpose The Manager, Transport Planning & Business Improvement is responsible for optimising the deployment and utilisation of transportation resources across Crown Singapore's businesses, including Relocations, Workspace, Fine Art, Records Management and Asset Lifecycle Management . The role will establish centralised visibility of transportation resources, improve planning effectiveness, reduce external trucking costs, and drive the transition from manual planning processes toward data-driven and digitally enabled transportation management. The successful candidate must be capable of operating in an environment where planning is currently managed through spreadsheets and manual processes and be able to design and implement sustainable improvements. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
