About the role

This position is responsible for ensuring animal well-being during the unloading process from the truck and movement through the alleys and yards of the livestock area. Responsibilities include: Monitoring the manner in which animals are handled by the producer and other livestock handlers while unloading. Responding to any animal that goes down while being moved from transit to the holding pen. Separating any sick or disabled animals from the other animals to ensure they receive proper treatment and aren't injured by the other animals. Performing other duties as assigned. Shift A : 7:30AM - 6:00PM; Monday - Friday (Saturday as needed).

Requirements

  • Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with animals is preferred but not needed.
  • Communication Skills:
  • Must be able to communicate with all Team Members and the producers delivering the animals.
  • Special Skills:
  • Good observation skills; conscientious about treatment of animals.
  • This position is slated for candidates who are currently working at this facility. Priority consideration will be provided to these applicants first. If local Team Members are not selected, Team Members from other locations and external candidates will then be reviewed for consideration.
