The role We are looking for an HR Generalist to support employees and managers across the full employee lifecycle. This is a broad, hands-on HR role covering onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, performance management, engagement, policy implementation, compliance and manager support. You will be a trusted and approachable point of contact for employees, helping people feel supported, informed and connected to the business. You will also work closely with managers, providing practical guidance on people matters, employee wellbeing, performance, engagement and policy application. What you will do Provide HR advice and support to employees and managers across absence, health issues, conduct, capability, grievances, organisational change and other employee relations matters. Build strong relationships with managers and coach them on HR policies, processes and effective people management. Support and manage employee relations cases, including complex investigations in partnership with managers. Ensure advice is accurate, timely and aligned with company policies, procedures and employment legislation. Proactively resolve people issues while helping maintain a positive, fair and inclusive working environment. Manage HR administration across the employee lifecycle, including HRIS data entry, employee records, audits and compliance checks. Support onboarding, including contractual documentation, Right to Work checks and inductions. Support the performance appraisal process, including performance standards, evaluations, performance improvement plans and employee development. Help develop, improve and implement HR policies, procedures and people processes. Support HR reporting, metrics, queries and ongoing system improvements. Act as the primary backup for payroll processing, including payroll updates. Champion employee engagement, wellbeing, inclusion and workplace culture initiatives. Support internal communications, HR updates, employee events and people initiatives. Stay up to date with employment legislation and support policy or process changes where needed. Promote the safety and comfort of colleagues, freelancers, talent, clients and vendors. Follow company IT, HR, security, confidentiality and health and safety procedures. Act in line with company values, ethical standards and business practices. What we are looking for You will need: Previous experience in an HR Generalist, HR Advisor or similar HR role. Experience supporting managers and employees across the employee lifecycle. Experience handling employee relations matters and core HR processes. Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment practices and employment legislation. Understanding of absence management, disciplinary, grievance and performance management processes. Knowledge of onboarding, employee engagement, retention, wellbeing and workplace culture initiatives. Familiarity with HR systems, employee data and Microsoft Office. Understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging principles. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Good judgement, empathy and emotional intelligence. The ability to build trust and credibility with employees and managers. Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
