Advanced Practice Nurse Positions: For Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) positions, applicants must possess a graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited educational program in the area of expertise or specialty indicated by the position. Examples of specialized experience performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Provides direct psychiatric services to patients across the life-span by assessing plans and providing support, comprehensive and therapeutic/ psychiatric, and psychological health care to individual geriatric, adult, adolescent and pediatric patients and their families with as-needed consultation with the medical staff; conducts evaluation and diagnosis of psychiatric medication needs. GS-12: Applicants must have at least one or more full years of professional nursing experience that is equivalent to the next lower grade level. Examples of specialized experience performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Develops evidence-based, culturally responsive, and cost-effective plans of care in collaboration with patients and families.
