About the role

We are looking to hire a PET/CT Scan Technologist to perform diagnostic PET/CT and CT Imaging procedures as directed by physician on a PRN basis, to provide patient care essential to the performance of these procedures by performing the duties outlined below.
Responsibilities
- All Nuclear Medicine procedures are provided and performed in accordance with the requirements of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC).
- All individuals will properly prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes in therapeutic and diagnostic radiotracer studies utilizing a variety of equipment.
- Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
- Moves equipment into specified position and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors such as time and distance.
- Maintain and calibrate radioisotope and laboratory equipment in accordance with required calibration schedule.
- All Radioactive materials received will be wiped, surveyed, logged, and properly disposed of in accordance with DHEC standard.
- Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
- Responsible for quality control and reports for Diagnostic Imaging Department.
- Maintains radiation monitors and proper registration of radiology equipment.
- Complies with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to radiology.
- Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting of all equipment.
- Orders and stocks all radiology supplies.

PET/CT Technologist Opportunity Lowcountry Oncology Associates Summerville, SC Job Summary Occupation: PET/CT Technologist Specialty: Diagnostic Imaging Clinic Location: Summerville, SC Employment: PRN Setting : Private Practice, Outpatient Board Certifications: SC Radiation Quality Standards Association License with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and registered with the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) Candidate Qualifications : Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform PET/CT procedures independently Minimum of one (1) years' experience in Diagnostic Imaging Knowledge of Nuclear medicine procedures and protocols Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-Ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology Skill in positioning patients properly Skill in preparing and administering contrast materials Skill in identifying and correcting equipment problems Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
