Supervisory IT Specialist (plcypln) (title 32)

About the role

This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position. This is a Permanent GS-2210-13 SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2170P01 and is part of the MO 131st Bomb Wing. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Air National Guard. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion). Maximum Military Grade - Lt Col (O-5) Minimum Military Grade - Maj (O-4) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled you to understand the stages required to automate a work process; experience in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use of adaptation of computer programs and systems. GS-13 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 36 months of specialized experience which demonstrates your ability to plan, coordinate, and direct a variety of functions including; maintenance, logistics plans, supply, multimedia, quality control, production control, ground radio, telecommunications, software test analysis, all data centers, technical service centers, help desks, communication networks (voice and data), network control centers, plans and programs, local computer program development and computer systems operations. The specialized experience must also demonstrate your ability to provide advice, counseling and/or instruction to subordinate employees involving all the complex, diversified activities, functions and services in those functional disciplines encompassed in the work centers listed above. Possession (or previous possession) of AFSC 17D3W is optimum. DOD Information Awareness Certification Requirements: The employee must obtain and maintain at a minimum a Secret security clearance. Incumbent must possess or be able to obtain and maintain certifications per DoD Directive 8570.1-M, AR 25-2, and as detailed in the Information Assurance (IA) Training and Certification Best Business Practice (BBP).Failure to satisfactorily obtain and maintain required certifications in accordance with the listed publications are grounds for termination. Selectee is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, dated 19 December 2005 (incorporating Change 1 dated 15 May 2008).
