About the role

The Opportunity Alliance has five separate adult residential programs in Portland and South Portland, ME. Each of these programs supports 8 -12 adults at a time. These are 24-hour residential treatment programs, providing a supportive living environment using an integrated health model, recognizing the unique needs of each resident.

Responsibilities

  • The Residential Services Technician (RST) position provides direct service in the residential group care or transitional living setting.
  • As a Residential Service Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the lives of individuals in our program and assisting our dedicated team. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing residents with general support for daily living activities.
  • Supporting treatment goals and ensuring overall safety within the residential setting.
  • Maintaining certification as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) and upholding continuous MHRT1 status through required trainings.
  • Serving as part of a team of Residential Service Technicians and collaborating with facilities management, the director, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Identifying needs; personal support, watchful oversight, and milieu management
  • Assisting in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for residents.
  • Responsible for charts and documentation.
  • These positions attend weekly or bi-weekly program staff meetings, and participate in other meetings as necessary.
  • Work is performed, reviewed, and evaluated under the supervision of the Program Director or Program Coordinator.

  • We are hiring for a variety of shifts.
  • These programs operate on a 24 hour/day, 7 days a week basis. Willingness to have availability on weekends/holidays may be required.

  • Qualification s:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent training in mental health preferred.
  • Must become certified as Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment; then maintain required trainings to uphold continuous MHRT1 status.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft office preferred.
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills required.
  • Flexible schedule is required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment required.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check.
  • Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
  • Must pass CNA registry check
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and TB screen.
  • Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, driving, typing and frequently lift and carry material weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings and for the occasional need to meet with clients offsite and within the program service area. This may include transportation of clients or driving to agency location to complete work. A good driving record is required.
