The Neuro Hospitalist is a key member of the inpatient neuroscience care team, providing expert consultation and management of neurologic conditions in hospitalized patients. This physician plays a pivotal role in acute diagnostic evaluation, stabilization, and multidisciplinary coordination across departments to ensure timely, evidence-based care for complex neurologic presentations. Working exclusively in the inpatient setting, the Neuro Hospitalist serves patients with a wide range of neurologic disorders, including stroke, seizures, encephalopathy, demyelinating diseases, and neuroinfectious conditions. This position involves high-impact collaboration with emergency medicine, hospital medicine, ICU teams, and subspecialty consultants to guide evaluation, treatment, and transitions of care. Essential Functions Evaluate, diagnose, and manage hospitalized patients with acute or complex neurologic conditions Provide inpatient consultation services across medical, surgical, and ICU units Interpret neuroimaging and diagnostic studies (CT, MRI, EEG, lumbar punctures, labs) Participate in rapid response, stroke alerts, and time-sensitive interventions in coordination with emergency teams Collaborate with multidisciplinary providers including intensivists, neurosurgeons, rehabilitation specialists, and case managers Guide transitions of care, including discharge planning, outpatient follow-up, and rehabilitation referrals Document clinical encounters accurately and maintain compliance with institutional and regulatory standards Participate in quality improvement efforts, team meetings, and continuing education FTE: 1.0, Shift: Day, Schedule: four 10-hour shifts per week, will include weekends as part of a rotation This position can be based in either the Puget Sound Region or Spokane, WA depending on desired location* for more information, contact: kelly.graves@multicare.org Position Summary The MultiCare Health System Neurology Department is looking for a BE/BC Neurohospitalist to join its thriving practice.
