AI Engineer - Variable Frequency Drive Development

Responsibilities

• Voice of Customer & Opportunity Identification Conduct recurring Voice of Customer (VOC) engagements with development teams to understand workflows, pain points, and opportunities where GenAI can deliver measurable value.
• Translate VOC insights into prioritized GenAI use cases aligned with business and engineering goals.
• Solution Benchmarking & Prototyping Evaluate and benchmark emerging GenAI technologies, tools, and platforms.
• Design and deliver proof-of-concept (POC) solutions that demonstrate clear value and are scalable for adoption by larger development teams.
• GenAI Adoption & Enablement Lead the adoption of GenAI capabilities across the development organization, ensuring tools are integrated into daily developer workflows.
• Partner with teams to drive sustained usage and embed GenAI as a standard way of working.
• Automation & Productivity Gains Identify and automate manual, repetitive, or error-prone development activities using GenAI and related technologies.
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) that quantify improvements in productivity, quality, and cycle time.
• Metrics & Continuous Improvement Establish clear KPIs to measure GenAI impact, including adoption, effectiveness, and business outcomes.
• Use data-driven insights to refine solutions and guide future investments.
• Technology Scouting & Knowledge Sharing Stay current with GenAI industry trends, best practices, and evaluation techniques.
• Proactively share insights, learnings, and recommendations with the broader development organization.
• Governance & Compliance Ensure all GenAI solutions comply with Rockwell Automation AI policies, data governance standards, and security requirements.
• The Essentials - You Will Have:
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Legal authorization to work in the US is required- we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, not now or in the future, for this job opening
• Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 10% of time.
• The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
• Typically requires 8+ years relevant experience in software development, including Python or other modern languages
• Experience with Large Language Models
• Experience working with Microsoft Co-Pilot and Anthropic Claude.
• Familiarity in creating AI agents
