Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the GS-15 level: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience: Experience developing strategic communications strategies to advance organizational priorities and guide engagement with key stakeholders; AND Coordinating legislative affairs AND/OR external affairs to provide consistent messaging and engagement and communications responsibilities across headquarters and regional offices; AND Providing advice and assistance to agency senior leadership on matters of immediate interest and concern to agency programs; AND Serving as a liaison with other agency offices and leadership on legislative affairs AND/OR external affairs and communications matters; AND Providing direct supervision, oversight, and direction of employees.
