Incumbent should have a small boat sailing instructor qualification from US Sailing or equivalent, e.g., US Navy MWR Instructor Certification OR documented local sailing instructor certification equivalent OR US Sailing Basic Keelboat Instructor Certification OR Basic Keelboat Instructor Trainer Certification OR other Nationally recognized organizations (the American Sailing Association (ASA) and US Coast Guard certification). Two years experience in teaching and leading groups. Experience in operating small power boats. Must be a mature individual who is professional and capable of exercising control of group of people. Incumbent will be performing tasks which call for frequent bending, standing and lifting. May lift up to 70 pounds in weight. Will have to launch and retrieve small boats. Will have to run an outboard motor on instruction boat. Physical exertion moderate to heavy. Work Is both indoors and outdoors in the elements. May be exposed to cuts, burns, water, sun, windburn, and inclement weather.
