About the role

The TB Diagnostic Network Coordinator will support Indonesia's National Tuberculosis Program (NTP) in delivering life-saving humanitarian assistance service delivery in full alignment with the new Presidential Executive Order directives. The Coordinator's primary focus will be to provide technical support for direct delivery service, with a special emphasis on strengthening the quality of TB diagnostic services and networks for TB patients. The Coordinator will work closely with the NTP to support the implementation of TB interventions, particularly those related to diagnostic services and network expansion. The role will involve identifying implementation challenges and contributing to solutions through coordinated technical support, in collaboration with the Global Fund (GF) and other partners. The Advisor will provide ongoing support to the NTP on TB diagnostic and network-related activities and collaborate with the U.S. Department of State (DoS) Health Foreign Assistance Unit in Indonesia. The Coordinator will be based within the NTP at the Ministry of Health (MOH) and will work under the guidance of the National TB Program Manager (NTP Manager). The Advisor will also contribute to routine reporting and coordination with the U.S. DoS team.

Responsibilities

  • Technical and Program Support
  • Provide technical and operational support to the NTP in implementing Indonesia's National Strategic Plan for TB diagnostics and laboratory networks.
  • Assist the Ministry of Health (MOH) and National Reference Laboratories (NRLs) in expanding access to internationally-recommended molecular rapid TB diagnostics (mWRDs), including Truenat, BD MAX, and other approved technologies.
  • Support efforts to strengthen TB laboratory quality assurance systems across the national network.
  • Contribute to the implementation of drug-susceptibility testing (DST) and related activities to support improved management of drug-resistant TB (DR-TB).
  • Assist with efforts to improve TB laboratory infrastructure and biosafety practices, including supporting renovation activities as needed.
  • Support the optimization and expansion of specimen transport and referral systems across districts and provinces.
  • Assist in planning and delivering TB laboratory trainings and capacity-building activities for laboratory staff.
  • Participate in technical supervisory visits and contribute to documentation of findings and follow-up actions.
  • Coordination and Program Implementation Support
  • Support coordination between the NTP, MOH units, laboratory stakeholders, and implementing partners on TB diagnostic and network activities.
  • Assist in identifying and tracking key implementation challenges and support follow-up actions.
  • Contribute to communication and coordination with global partners, including the Global Fund and Supranational Reference Laboratories.
  • Participate in relevant technical working groups and implementation meetings at national level.
