Lumos is looking for a Safety Coordinator who will help service operations build and sustain a culture of safety across our organization, with a special focus on Outside Plant (OSP) field operations. In this hybrid role, you'll be responsible for ensuring that all safety regulations, protocols, and procedures are followed at telecommunications job sites, including aerial work sites, underground cable installations, and facility maintenance. The Safety Coordinator works closely with project teams to maintain a safe working environment. Essential Functions Conduct routine inspections of job sites, telecommunications equipment, towers, and cable installations to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards. Identify potential hazards and risks in various operations environments, including elevated workspaces and confined spaces. Ensure that all safety protocols are being followed by staff and contractors, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to fall protection regulations. Assist in conducting safety training for new and existing employees, including work zone safety, electrical hazard awareness, and safe handling of telecommunications equipment. Collaborate with documenting and investigating any safety incidents, accidents, or near misses, and provide recommendations for corrective actions. Ensure that all safety gear, including harnesses, ropes, helmets, and electrical safety equipment is regularly inspected and maintained. Stay updated on changes to safety regulations in the telecommunications industry, including OSHA, EPA, and state-specific guidelines, and ensure that the company remains in compliance. Assist in preparing and implementing emergency response plans for various telecommunications job sites, including remote areas, aerial work sites, and confined underground spaces. Maintain records of safety inspections, training sessions, and compliance audits. Generate regular safety performance reports for management review. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards in dynamic work environments. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate safety procedures and incidents. Ability to work both independently
