Team Leader Driver

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drivers, ensuring pre-start checks are completed and vehicles depart on schedule, including arranging cover for absences.
• Prepare driver rosters and support the Operations Supervisor with daily operational coordination.
• Provide relief driving across routes as required, including loading and unloading duties.
• Maintain accurate records, complete documentation, and operate relevant systems.
• Ensure vehicles are well-presented, maintained, and compliant with safety and operational standards.
• Promote a high standard of customer service and ensure compliance with company procedures, including fatigue management.
• Assist in achieving monthly branch HSEQ KPI targets.
• Schedule preventative maintenance and repairs for trucks and equipment in a coordinated manner to minimise service disruption.
• Support the Operations Manager in continuously improving service delivery and resolving operational issues in a timely manner.
• About you
• You're a natural leader with strong operational awareness and a hands-on approach. You're organised, dependable, and able to keep things running smoothly while supporting your team. You're just as comfortable behind the wheel as you are coordinating schedules and solving day-to-day challenges.
• You'll bring:
• A minimum Class 4 New Zealand Driver's Licence.
• Proven experience in a driving role (HR or Class 4).
• Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle operations.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
