About the role
We're hiring a Summer Engineering Apprentic e o n our Magnetics & Resolvers Engineering team for a hands-on, full-lifecycle experience covering design, manufacturing, and process engineering. You'll own real deliverables on active aerospace and defense programs and present your results to engineering leadership.
Responsibilities
- Design (~40%): Support custom transformer, inductor, and resolver designs. Run magnetic design calculations, build CAD models and drawings, and assist with prototype builds and lab characterization (LCR meters, hi-pot testing, ect . ).
- Manufacturing (~30%): Develop fixtures and tooling (including 3D-printed fixtures ), support First Article Inspections and qualification builds, and contribute to Manufacturing Standard Instructions on the production floor.
- Process (~30%): Apply Lean / Six Sigma tools to yield improvement, Gage R&R, capability studies, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement projects.
- Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree program in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering
- Materials Science Engineering
- Or related engineering discipline
- Solid engineering fundamentals, strong communication skills, and a hands-on, curious mindset
Requirements
- Coursework in electromagnetics, power electronics, or manufacturing processes
- CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred)
- Simulation tools (ANSYS Maxwell, MATLAB) or statistical tools (Minitab, JMP)
- Prior intern ship, co-op, research, or maker / robotics experience
- Interest in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics
