About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Athletics Facility at the Naval Weapons Station, Goose Creek, SC. This is a Regular Fulll-Time position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: 2 or 4 year degree in exercise science or related field preferred. Personal/Group Fitness training certification(s) from an NCCA accredited entity (ACSM, ACE, NSCA, NASM, ISSA, etc.) preferred. Must have experience which provides a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in fitness related activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities equipment, rules and procedures which involves recreational work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned. Must have Adult CPR/AED/First Aid certification or be able to obtain within 60 days of employment. Must have ability to communicate professionally both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; recurring activities such as bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, and reaching; pushing/pulling loaded hand trucks/carts; and recurring lifting of moderately heavy items. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry boxes or other pieces of equipment of up to 45 pounds.
