JOB SUMMARY, DESCRIPTION & QUALIFICATIONS: Job Summary This is a jointly structured, full-time position with independent employment at Northcentral Technical College (NTC) and Bridge Community Health Clinic (BCHC). In the role of Dental Therapy Clinical at NTC, the position supports the Dental Therapy program by providing clinical instruction and reinforcing student learning in alignment with program outcomes. The role contributes to student evaluation and support, maintains professional competence through continuing education, and participates in select program quality improvement and accreditation related activities as assigned. In the role of Community Practitioner at BCHC, this position provides dental therapy services for BCHC consistent with WI Dentistry Examining Board s. 447.06 (3) (b), and under the direct, indirect, or general supervision of a qualifying dentist with whom the dental therapist has entered into a collaborative management agreement. The type of supervision depends on the accumulative hours the licensed dental therapist has worked. The Dental Therapist provides services, treatments, and procedures that by education, supplemental training, licensure, and demonstrated performance they are qualified to perform, and that align with the parameters of the collaborative management agreement. The position is generally 30 hours per week at NTC salaried and 10 hours per week at BCHC hourly, with flexibility based on academic and clinical priorities. It supports student learning and community oral health access and provides a pathway for new graduates to complete the 4,000 hours required for a full-time Dental Therapy Faculty position. New graduates are encouraged to apply. Essential Functions and Responsibilities The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully with or without reasonable accommodation. Dental Therapy Clinical at NTC Instruction and Student Learning Provide didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction to Dental Therapy students. Prepare and deliver instructional activities, including updating instructional materials and designing learning experiences aligned with program outcomes. Evaluate student performance using clearly communicated criteria and provide timely feedback and academic support. Post and maintain office hours for student assistance. Curriculum and Program Development Contribute to curriculum development, program review, and continuous quality improvement processes. Develop evaluation criteria, assessments, and instructional resources that meet CODA standards and reflect current evidence-based practice. Participate in accreditation activities and ensure instructional compliance with program requirements. Professional and Scholarly Engagement Maintain professional competence in assigned teaching areas and participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education. Engage in scholarly activity, including applied research, publication, instructional innovation, or community engagement consistent with CODA expectations. Support and model NTC's mission, values, and commitment to student success, equity, and inclusion. College and Program Participation Participate in program and College meetings, including Team Time and Advisory Committee meetings. Submit final grades by the scheduled due date on the academic calendar. Attend College in service sessions, commencements, and other required College activities. Community Practitioner at BCHC Clinical Dental Services Provide educational, clinical, and therapeutic services to children and adults. Perform comprehensive oral examinations and assessments; treatment planning, and follow up care. Deliver routine preventative and restorative care (e.g. fillings, sealants, fluoride varnish, basic extractions, etc.). Administer local anesthetic and desensitizing medication.
