Casual Care Aide Extendicare St. Paul

Responsibilities

• Personal Hygiene care of clients in accordance with the care plan such as bathing, showering and grooming
• Makes beds, Toilets client and takes care of bandage and dressing changes
• Utilizes proper body mechanics and transfer techniques to carry out safe lifts and/or transfers.
• Prepares nutritious, varied and economical meals and snacks, including special diets as determined by the care plan, and uses proper food preparation, storage and hygiene practices.
• Provides cognitive, social and/or emotional support to the client.
• Aids with the use and care of adaptive aids - Hearing Devices, Glasses or contact lenses and dentures
• Aids with a variety of household tasks - Cleaning, Laundry, usage of standard household and cooking equipment's
• Observes and reports any changes or problems related to the client or client's environment to the immediate Supervisor in a timely manner.

Requirements

• HSW Certificate and experience working with vulnerable population
• Interpersonal skills typically gained through daily living skills acquired in caring for the household management needs of a family, elderly, disabled or ill family members, as well as personal care needs of an ill family member.
