About the role
Grade Level (for internal use): 12 Job Grade (for internal candidates only): 12 The Team: S&P Global Enterprise Data Organization team is a creative team of experts collaborating across divisions and driving continuous improvements in platform innovation and usability. The Impact: The candidate will be responsible for supporting and expanding our cloud infrastructure, monitoring and alerting frameworks, onboarding/migration projects, and interacting with the wider DevOps, QA, and development teams. We are looking for someone with proven Cloud experience who has development and operational skills and can deliver a secure and structured automated solutions to our operational tasks.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with software development teams to improve application reliability, performance, security and scalability.
- Provide BAU Production support, and resolve issues either spotted by monitoring or reported by users before causing business impact
- Develop scripts in Terraform, Python and Unix shell scripting to automate tasks and streamline processes.
- Design, implement, and manage infrastructure using Terraform on AWS cloud platform utilizing best practices
- Comfortable with writing database queries and performing database management with an added advantage of experience in Document-Oriented Data Bases, AWS storage solutions
- Set up and configure monitoring solutions, including Grafana, PagerDuty, Splunk to ensure system health and respond to incidents promptly.
Requirements
- 9+ years of relevant Cloud and Software Engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications.
- Proven experience working with AWS cloud technologies, GitHub, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiar with Database and Database query ( Document-Oriented Data Bases experience preferred but not mandatory, good experience on scripting or coding would be a plus)
- Familiarity with monitoring solutions/logging solutions such as PagerDuty/Splunk and other industry-standard tools.
- Linux and networking knowledge. Good understanding of AWS network configurations such as Routing, DNS, Load Balancing, IAM, security group
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying, resolving issues and raising improvement opportunities
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including experience speaking to technical and business audiences.
- Be able to work independently, or drive a group of people, to work on improvement projects.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer is a plus
