Responsibilities
- As TNTP advances its FY26-FY29 strategic plan, the Vice President, Fundraising will play a critical role in helping the organization rethink how fundraising is done across the enterprise, laying the groundwork in Year 1 and executing against a more mature, diversified strategy in Years 2 and 3.
- As a member of TNTP's Leadership Team, the Vice President, Fundraising reports to the Chief of Strategy, Growth, and Finance and partners closely with the CEO, Executive Team, Board, and leaders across programs, research, finance, and operations.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Strengthen the Fundraising Function & Culture
- Assess and strengthen TNTP's fundraising model, culture, processes, and systems to ensure they are fit for current needs and future growth.
- Build a shared, enterprise-wide understanding of how fundraising happens at TNTP, what must change, and how leaders and teams across the organization contribute to success.
- Lead the evolution from strong execution today toward a more scalable, proactive, and strategic fundraising function capable of delivering on Years 2-3 priorities.
- Enterprise Fundraising Strategy & Strategic Plan Alignment
- Own and deliver a multi-year fundraising strategy and revenue model aligned to TNTP's strategic plan, impact goals, and financial sustainability.
- Ensure new and emerging priorities in the strategic plan are resourced effectively, including:
- Education-to-Career (E2C) initiatives,
- AI-enabled work and innovation, and
- TNTP's research agenda, all of which will be primarily funded through philanthropic sources.
- Translate strategy into clear annual plans, ensuring early groundwork is in place to execute more ambitious goals in future years.
- Portfolio Leadership, Diversification & Growth
- Lead a robust and diversified fundraising portfolio spanning institutional philanthropy (foundations and corporations) and individual giving.
- Expand and diversify funding across:
- Geographies,
- Donor types (e.g., new foundation segments, national and regional funders, individual investors), and
- Giving structures (e.g., multi-year, unrestricted, innovation-focused funding).
- Personally manage and close a portfolio of highest-priority funder relationships, including principal-level prospects.
- Organization-Wide Partnership & External Engagement
- Serve as a strategic partner to program, research, and regional leaders-helping them align priorities, narratives, and funding strategies.
- Partner with the CEO, Executive Team, and Board to strengthen TNTP's external positioning, expand the funder network, and activate leadership in fundraising.
- Shape and operationalize a compelling value proposition that reflects TNTP's evolution, innovation, and impact.
- Team Leadership & World-Class Capability Building
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing fundraising team, strengthening skills, clarity of roles, and operating norms.
- Build a world-class fundraising team with strong strategic thinking, relationship management, execution excellence, and learning orientation.
- Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and development pathways in a distributed, remote environment.
- Systems, Infrastructure & Operational Excellence
- Strengthen fundraising infrastructure and operations, including CRM (Salesforce), prospecting, forecasting, proposal development, reporting, and data quality.
- Ensure strong coordination with Finance on budgeting, grant management, compliance, and risk.
- Use data and insights to continuously improve decision-making, prioritization, and funder experience.
