The Limerick Defect/Integration team are seeking an motivated, enthusiastic engineer to join their group. The candidate must be curious, agile and flexible, with excellent problem solving and data analysis skills. A sense of urgency and the ability to manage multiple tasks & projects simultaneously is also a must. The Defect Integration role is exciting and dynamic with huge potential for learning across all fab areas and functions. This is an exciting time for the Limerick Fab as we are expanding our Wafer Fab by 2X and will increase output by 3X by 2026. Job Description: Layer (Module) Ownership: Drive defect reduction/yield improvement projects for your layers Identify top pareto items impacting defect density Identify improvements and collaborate with the workcentres to drive to completion Use SPC (Statistical Process Control) to monitor and control inline defects throughout the product lifecycle Maintain appropriate control limits to be able to flag genuine issues, while preventing false OOCs. Excursion detection, fast response and containment, and prevention Inspection recipe maintenance and improvement to ensure low nuisance detection and high capture rate of defects of interest Required Skills: Root Cause Analysis : Investigate complex technical challenges to identify the underlying causes of defects or yield loss Requires strong analytical skills and the ability to apply creative problem solving and critical thinking to a problem Excellent data analysis skills are a must: use of Klarity Defect, SAS, jmp, and ACE to datamine large data sets with complex interactions Design of Experiment to facilitate problem solving Use of Python a bonus Statistical Process Control Requires a deep understanding of the fundamentals of SPC to maintain inline defect charts with correct control and spec limits, and identify and respond quickly to shifts in the population Good understanding of Statistics in general Process Integration and improvement: Strong knowledge or a willingness to learn about the different process flows Understand how different layers and process tools interact with each other - the importance of establishing good process window An ability to read and interpret wafer cross sections: FIB, SEM, TEM, EDX Ability to perform SEM & FIB analysis a bonus Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with process engineering, equipment engineering, product engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure defect issues are resolved quickly with robust fixes in place to prevent reoccurrence Requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to bring people along Strong presentation skills and the ability to explain a complex problem clearly and concisely are a must Defect Reduction/Yield Improvement Use of ACE for Defect-Yield correlation Identify top pareto items impacting yield, and creative solutions to improve Project management is a key skill to be able to drive Defect Reduction projects to completion in timely manner Ability to scope out a project and set realistic timelines Bring the right people on board and work with them to achieve project goals Strong self-starter with ability to drive a project and keep it moving Overcome obstacles by thinking creatively For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
