About the role

You will serve as a Supervisory Environmental Planner in the Environmental Planning and Conservation Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII. This is an interdisciplinary position and will be filled as a Community Planner, Natural Resources Specialist, Environmental Engineer, or Physical Scientist. Your salary will be increased by the applicable cost of living allowance (COLA), which is subject to change without notice. Current rate is 8.64%. This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0819 series. Your license, registration, or certification must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your current license, registration, or certification with your application package. In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Having experience executing Environmental Planning documents, preferably National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents, and coordinating complex projects with a multi-disciplinary staff; 2) Utilizing experience working effectively with people at all levels, managing complex projects with multi-disciplinary teams, leading them to completion on schedule and within budget; the ability to balance scientific and policy requirements, anticipate needs, and coordinate efforts effectively; and manage and/or supervise direct reports or other team members; and 3) Having experience with financial management and contracting acquisitions as they relate to Environmental planning project execution and experience in the full contract lifecycle including SOW/GE development and serving as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
