About the role
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER/ARCHITECT in the NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SOUTHEAST located at an Echelon IV Command. This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or a Registered Architect (RA). Your license or registration must be held in any State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your current license or registration with your application package. A copy of a wall certificate that does not show your current registration status will not serve to verify this requirement. In addition to the SPF and Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following: 1) Expert knowledge of NAVFAC design practices, procedures, and criteria with which we execute our new facility or facility renovation projects. Technical expert in facility design; 2) Expertise in leading multi-discipline design teams in the successful design of facility construction and renovations of the type of facilities that would be expected to be found on military installations; 3) Expertise in the supervision and management of a multi-discipline design staff and all of the administrative and community management aspects of this role and expert at evaluating employees and holding them accountable; 4) Expertise in providing Quality Assurance/Quality Control of design documents and technical studies completed by both in-house and AE consultants; and 5) Expertise in providing technical construction support for NAVFAC projects.
