Responsibilities

  • Writing detailed step-by-step install procedures based on crane install activities.
  • Design and build all required cabinets/temporary power panels required to successfully perform the installation. These would be worked out based on the tools required to perform the installations.

  • REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
  • Knowledgeable with using and applying the NEC electrical code and UL508A regarding panel layout designing regarding components/wiring sizing/routings and applying ambient temperature controls for sizing custom enclosures in regard to best practices for doing on-site electrical installation.
  • Ability to lead and work with others to maximize their productivity. Extremely important is the ability to be customer focused and work with even the most challenging individuals in meeting install delivery deadlines for the customer.
  • EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Must have a 4-year Electrical Engineering degree (BSEE, BSEET) or equivalent.
  • 5 to 10 years of electrical install engineering experience in doing field install startups, wiring, PLC and HMI programming, and experience in setting up variable frequency drives.
  • Rockwell PLC/HMI, Siemens PLC/HMI, Magnetek VFDs, Siemens VFDs programming preferred.
  • OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Be able to travel domestically and internationally to nuclear and government facilities.
  • Be able to stay in the field for durations of 1-2 months at a time with 20% - 40% in the field.
  • Have the ability to climb up 50+ feet of vertical ladders.

JOB POSITION SUMMARY The electrical Install engineer will work with overhead cranes/hoists in the Konecranes Nuclear Equipment and Services (KNES) business, completing electrical installation, Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) coupled with final commissioning. This install engineer will be able to read/design electrical install schematics, use AutoCAD Electrical, perform electrical install calculations, have knowledge to perform field install startups & testing, work in industrial environments, have detailed knowledge of electric motor controls, utility circuits, safety circuits, and operator controls, as related to installing overhead cranes and hoists. This install engineer will be able to troubleshoot and resolve problems including, but not limited to circuit breakers, transformers, motor starters, contactors, relays, A.C./D.C. inverters, braking resistors, etc. Install startups and field service activities can be both domestic and internationally and may last for 1-2 months at a time
