Responsibilities

  • Performs technical aspects of specified deliverables and creates deliverables and ensuring that QA/QC procedures are employed consistent with scope, schedule and budget.
  • Reviews scope and schedule of proposals to develop budgets to complete technical aspects of a project.

  • Makes formal presentations and/or publishes articles for professional/trade/civic organizations.
  • Develops/mentors junior staff members through scheduled training sessions and regular staff engagement.
  • Responsible for feature extraction production support as projects dictate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geodetic Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of professional geospatial-related experience required; Master's degree with 8+ years of experience, or PhD with 5+ years of experience also accepted.
  • Must have practical knowledge of survey and Lidar principles as well as DOT specifications
  • Working knowledge of software associated with Lidar and survey data processing.
  • Experience with the following software packages: TopoDOT, Microstation Connect, OpenRoads Designer, Leica Pegasus Manager / Leica MMS Software (Cyclone), Terra Solid, BIM - Revit, Civil 3D, ArcGIS.
  • Proven ability to effectively present information before groups of clients or employees.
  • Experience with reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team to bring projects to completion.
  • Must display a focus on innovation and process improvement.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and data management skills

Position Overview: Woolpert is hiring a Senior Geospatial Specialist to join our dynamic Survey & Geomatics team in Albuquerque, NM to support land surveying, reality capture (mobile mapping and terrestrial scanning), UAS, and geodetic projects. This position is primarily responsible for scan registration, survey data processing and adjustments, feature extraction, staff training, team management, cost estimating, scheduling, technical oversight, and project reporting. The position is key in establishing and improving internal and external client relationships, growth, and assisting our project management teams with securing repeat opportunities within a client base. Qualified candidates will have experience with mobile and terrestrial Lidar technology. Excellent communication and computer skills are necessary. Experience with GPS/RTK, UAS, mobile and terrestrial Lidar sensors, IMU and DME technology is required We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.
