For the people of Avio Aero, their work isn't just a job, it's their passion and purpose. We were meant to fly. As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for studying, defining, writing, testing, optimization and approval of CAM programs for the production of aluminum, magnesium and steel parts on CNC machines. Job Description Essential Responsibilities Receive input documentation from a manufacturing engineer and verify the producibility of the parts using the selected machine (typically 5-axis machining centers) Define the machining strategies together with the manufacturing engineer, the fixtures and cutting tool with specialists, identifying the machine to be used, the number of operations and the material removal phases, the type of machining (drilling, tapping, milling, boring, etc.) most suitable for the dimensional specifications of the part Define, with the support of the tool specialist, the set of cutting tools necessary for machining the parts, starting and managing the tool acquisition and selection process Support the equipment specialist in defining the types of fixtures, also with definition of whole machining operations related to the clamping and referencing of the part; in reference to this, defines the best probing strategies for zeroing and referencing the part inside the machine and obtaining the best dimensional results Design CNC programs using CAM systems such as Unigraphics NX or similar and simulating with software such as Vericut, starting from the probing process, to roughing operations, up to finishing operations of the part, in the best respect of the dimensional requests and optimization of processing times Plan the validation and testing activities of the machining programs, from testing on the selected production machines, to inspections of the parts, until reaching the desired conformity on the parts (and/or process statistics) Update the process documentation, relating to CNC programs, tools, etc. on the specific AvioAero repository areas, to make it available for consultation in production Support the AvioAero continuous improvement process, which takes place in the pillars S (safety), Q (quality), D (delivery), P (productivity and cost), acting directly in the analysis for root causes of failures, identification of adequate countermeasures and implementing them Support the technological improvement of the area in which you operate and of the technological pyramid in which your actions will be inserted, both by directly leading projects for the introduction of new technologies, or by supporting those already started Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or a high school diploma in Mechanical or Mechatronics or Aeronautical with solid experience in a production engineering and/or CNC machine programmer role Ability to read mechanical engineering drawings and technical specifications (norms, procedures, international standards, etc.) Knowledge of 3D modeling software of the most typical parts involved in a manufacturing process: cutting tools, clamping devices, to perform machining processes on aluminum, magnesium, and steel parts Experience with CAM creation software, such as Unigraphics NX or similar, in which operationally create the part's machining project, step by step, to obtain the complete sequence of material removal operations with the defined tools Good use of simulation software, such as Vericut, to simulate the feasibility of the previously created CAM and verify the absence of unwanted collisions in the machine with the clamping equipment or the tooling parts Direct experience with CNC milling machines or in CNC programming (evidence of training courses or similar). Ability in CNC programming of 3, 4 and 5-axis milling machines will be preferred Fluent Italian and English Work Visa in accordance with local regulations Desired characteristics Ability to organize and plan activities correctly, respecting the priorities and deadlines of the shop/production Significant experience in production in the mechanical sector (preferably in the aeronautical sector) Similar knowledge and experience is required on programming multi-axis anthropomorphic robots, for the execution of automatic deburring operations on the same parts Good knowledge of the CAD (Computer Aided Design) system Behaviors of humility, transpare
