Job Overview As an Aerospace engineering manager within AEVEX Aerospace, you will be responsible for the supervision, development and tasking of a group of engineers who share your specific discipline. This includes mentoring, training, and assignments, as well as performance reviews and career advancement. This position is specifically for an aerospace engineering manager with experience in designing aerospace and defense systems. You will lead a team of approximately 10-20 highly competent engineers that are hungry for advancements in their technology spaces. Essential Functions - Designs, implements, and refines product development, testing, and manufacturing processes. - Supervise and manage assignments and career development of assigned staff. - Leads teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes. - Oversees and contributes to project logistics and resource allocation. - Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste. - Secures the resources needed for teams to excel, including researching and proposing capital investments. - Helps to create and oversee project budgets and engages in cost management strategies. - Attends trade shows and conferences and makes site visits to suppliers' facilities. - Advocates on behalf of team members by securing adequate resources for success. - Communicates technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including investors, senior management and potential customers. - Maintains high-level expertise in their field or sector. - Assures that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines. - Collaborates with other team leaders and departments. - Forges and maintains relationships with suppliers and customers. - Perform other duties as required. - Regular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule]. - Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices. - Embodies AEVEX's cultural values and aligns daily actions with department goals and company culture.
