About the role

You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST for the Material Handling Equipment Program in the PRODUCTION ENGINEERING & FACILITIES DIVISION (Code 986), PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. GS-1712-12 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: * Experience creating and delivering effective training programs using adult learning principles, simulations, and hands-on exercises to ensure operators meet safety and operational standards. * Experience implementing and following OSHA regulations, Navy directives, and safety protocols. * Experience assessing operator performance, providing corrective feedback, and implementing improvements. * Experience determining the methods, tools, and techniques for delivering Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) training, within established regulations and organizational policies. GS-1712-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: * Experience designing, implementing, and continuously evaluating multi-locations training program. * Experience utilizing established safety regulations, Navy directives, OSHA standards, and internal policies as guidelines for training and safety operations. * Experience providing both classroom instruction and hands-on training to ensure operators meet safety and performance standards. * Experience identifying training gaps and implementing corrective actions to improve safety, efficiency, and training effectiveness.
