The ideal candidate is a hands-on network engineer with strong experience designing, operating, and improving secure, reliable enterprise networks. They should be comfortable owning core networking responsibilities, but also curious and adaptable enough to work beyond traditional networking as the technology landscape evolves. This person will help ensure that West Monroe's offices, cloud platforms, remote workforce, and business systems remain connected, resilient, secure, and scalable. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, partnering across IT and security teams, improving operational maturity, and modernizing infrastructure through automation, cloud connectivity, and thoughtful engineering practices.

Responsibilities

  • As a Senior IT Engineer, Network & Infrastructure, you will:
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for West Monroe's enterprise network environment, with primary ownership across Cisco and Meraki technologies, including LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, internet connectivity, routing, switching, firewalls, and cloud connectivity.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and continuously improve network architecture across office, cloud, and remote-user environments, with an emphasis on Cisco and Meraki platforms.
  • Administer and optimize the Meraki Dashboard, including wireless, switching, security appliance, monitoring, alerting, firmware, configuration, and lifecycle management activities.
  • Monitor network health, performance, availability, and capacity; proactively identify issues and drive improvements.
  • Troubleshoot complex network and infrastructure incidents, partnering with IT operations, security, service desk, vendors, and business stakeholders to restore service and prevent recurrence.
  • Support secure connectivity for employees, offices, applications, cloud services, and third-party platforms.
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to align network architecture with security standards, including segmentation, firewall policy, secure remote access, logging, vulnerability remediation, and Zero Trust principles.
  • Participate in broader IT engineering initiatives, which may include cloud infrastructure, endpoint connectivity, identity and access integrations, SaaS platform connectivity, automation, monitoring, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, operational runbooks, standards, and support procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repeatable tasks, improve observability, reduce manual effort, and increase operational reliability.
  • Support technology projects such as office openings or moves, network modernization, cloud migration, vendor transitions, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Evaluate new technologies, tools, and approaches that improve network performance, security, resilience, and manageability.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance during design discussions, incident response, and project delivery.
  • Contribute to IT engineering standards, governance, change management, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Participate in an on-call or escalation rotation as needed to support critical infrastructure.

Requirements

  • We are looking for someone with:
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or a related IT engineering role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with enterprise routing, switching, wireless, firewalls, VPN, DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, network segmentation, and network troubleshooting.
  • Strong experience supporting Cisco and Meraki network environments, including Cisco switching/routing and Meraki wireless, switching, security appliances, dashboard administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments that include corporate offices, cloud platforms, SaaS applications, and remote users.
  • Familiarity with firewalls, secure remote access, and network security platforms, with Cisco and Meraki experience as the priority.
  • Working knowledge of cloud networking concepts in Microsoft A
