Job Summary: The Human Resources & Corporate Services function supports the organization's employees and internal administrative operations so the business can run smoothly, stay compliant, and deliver on its strategic goals. Within this function, this part-time hybrid payroll role is responsible for accurate payroll data entry, supporting and assisting with routine HR/Payroll administration. The role helps maintain up-to-date employee records, processes hours, deductions and benefits correctly, responds to basic payroll and HR inquiries, and flags discrepancies to the Payroll Manager/HR Advisors, contributing directly to compliant, on-time / accurate pay and a positive employee experience.
Responsibilities
- Enter and verify employee changes in ADP Workforce Now payroll software.
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing (pre-payroll / post-payroll).
- Ensure payroll accuracy in compliance with employment laws in a multiprovincial environment.
- Partners with other departments to provide or receive information related to payroll.
- Describe attendance procedures to new hires and assist with password resets and login matters.
- Support tasks like maintaining employee records and responding to employee inquiries.
- Other duties as needed, such as data reporting or electronic filing.
- Contributor in Payroll and Human Resources on various projects.
- Act as back-up for payroll coverage.
Requirements
- Proven payroll knowledge with an achieved payroll designation (e.g. PCP) are a must.
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are required.
- 2+ years of direct payroll experience ideally with systems like ADP Workforce Now / Workday.
- A diploma program in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources is preferred.
- Experience with multi-province payroll is preferred.
