We are looking for a Financial Operation Specialist to oversee and maintain strong operational relationships with banks and payment service providers across the EU . This role ensures that onboarding, KYC updates, and regulatory information requests are handled smoothly and on time. You will safeguard the continuity of our fiat rails, drive regular due diligence reviews, identify emerging industry trends, and serve as the k ey liaison between Finance, Compliance, and our financial partners. You will also play a key role in designing and shaping core finance processes in a fast-scaling, regulated environment. Your ideas will directly influence how we build the EU Finance function from the ground up, and you'll be part of defining best practices that will set the standard for our industry in Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate finance-related payment operations and reconciliation processes between banks, payment service providers, and internal teams (Finance, Compliance, Legal, Operations).
  • Take ownership of banking and PSP onboarding processes, including account openings, integrations, documentation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the daily monitoring and reconciliation of operational accounts, ensuring timely identification and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Manage onboarding procedures and ongoing due diligence for financial partners.
  • Monitor process quality, cost structures, and coordinate improvements with relevant stakeholders, with a strong focus on payment flows and operational efficiency.
  • Support the preparation of documentation for audits, regulatory requests, and compliance reviews.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial partners, agreements, and operational procedures.
  • Act as an operational liaison for cross-departmental finance projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Identify and propose enhancements to banking infrastructure, payment flows, reconciliation processes, and risk controls.
  • Assist in the implementation of new finance systems or tools, with a focus on automation of payment and reconciliation workflows.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for finance operations.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in financial operations, payments, banking/PSP onboarding, or corporate banking.
  • Strong understanding of EU and Austrian banking operations, payment flows, KYC/AML processes, and partner due diligence.
  • Hands-on experience with payment operations, reconciliations, or bank account management is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional projects and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • Solid organisational skills with high attention to detail and process discipline.
  • Professional fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP or finance systems (e.g., Oracle NetSuite).
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify process gaps and propose practical solutions, especially in automation and process optimisation.
  • Experience in fintech, payments, or digital assets.
  • Familiarity with MiCAR safeguarding requirements, payment regulations, and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience with bank integrations, APIs, or automation of finance processes.
  • Existing network of banking and PSP contacts in the EU.
