Liquid Personnel is recruiting an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) for its client in Gateshead. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people by ensuring their care plans are robust, effective, and aligned with statutory requirements. The role is primarily office-based, with some flexibility for home working. It requires a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, along with excellent communication and organisational skills. What will your responsibilities be? In this role, you will: Chair Looked After Child (LAC) reviews, ensuring care plans meet statutory requirements and promote positive outcomes. Monitor and track progress against care plans, escalating concerns where necessary. Ensure the voice of the child is central to all decision-making processes. Work collaboratively with social workers, managers, and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children. Provide professional challenge and oversight to ensure compliance with legislation and guidance. Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality reports following reviews.
