Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Claims Professionals handling complex claims including NYLL, Construction Defect, and high-exposure litigated general liability claims is required.

  • Ensure team members are adequately prepared for the mediation and all other negotiations and trials, where necessary.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reserving practices.
  • Review, analyze and approve coverage letter. large loss reports and evaluations on claim files.
  • Close collaboration with underwriting business partners to advise of trends and significant claims activity.
  • Adhere to company procedures and best practice guidelines and prioritize time sensitive issues.
  • Frequent interaction and case presentation to senior level executives

Requirements

  • Proven track record of managing Claims Professionals handling complex claims including NYLL, Construction Defect, and high-exposure litigated general liability claims is required.
  • 8 years experience managing complex claims
  • Being in a Coaction office 3 days a week is REQURIED
  • Prior management experience of a NYLL claims team is REQUIRED
  • Prior experience in handling high exposure large losses preferred
  • Ability to work as a team member, take accountability for work product and decisions
  • Must possess confidence and be a problem solver with an eye towards creative solutions
  • Skillful negotiator
  • Effective communication skills a must with an ability to build relationships with our insureds and brokers and partner with our underwriters
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required adjuster license within 90 days
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • JD preferred
