  • Advocacy, Campaigns Plan and Strategic Leadership
  • Develop a strategic plan of action to enhance the collaboration and partnerships at the national level with the National Association of churches and ensure same at the field operations level.
  • Provide oversight to major WVB policy and advocacy initiatives and ensure compliance with WVI advocacy and campaigns standards, protocols and policy.

  • Lead the process of continuous learning related to advocacy and integration of advocacy with other lines of ministries and sectors and themes.
  • Encourage mutual learning between Technical Programmes and advocacy Teams within WVB Operations and other National Offices Advocacy Teams in the East Africa regional operations for promotion of peer to peer learning.
  • Lead scaling up of field evidence to influence national and regional policy discussions
  • Advocacy Co-ordination/Integration-Internal
  • Ensure that advocacy is implemented effectively as a ministry area and is embedded across other ministry areas including Integrated Programs, Ministry Quality and Humanitarian & Emergency Affairs (HEA).
  • Provide policy direction to World Vision Burundi on the advocacy priorities/focus themes
  • Co-ordinate advocacy initiatives on strategic issues that affect Burundi such as the ITAW Campaigns, Gender, CVA, Child Protection and humanitarian responses etc
  • Acts as focal point for liaising with Cluster Programme Operations to ensure coherence in advocacy content, delivery and dissemination.
  • Lead the review of programme or grant designs from an advocacy perspective and ensure integration.
  • Lead the linkage of local programming and advocacy to policy influence.
  • Lead in facilitating the design of advocacy accountability frameworks in the Regional Operations or clusters to ensuring that key leaders are contributing to advocacy outcomes at local-national levels.
  • External Engagement
  • Provide support to the National Director, Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Management Team in directly engaging national policymakers, the UN and Civil Society Organizations and government on critical issues.
  • Lead and Coordinate strategic partnerships and engagement with National and regional institutions relevant organization to enhance collective response to child well-being.
  • Strengthen partnership and collaboration with faith-based organizations at National and Regional Level to influence and monitor policy implementation to enhance child well-being.
  • Support capacity development of leadership and management to engage and influence policymakers at the national and field operations level
  • Build relations and strategic alliances with the specialized agencies and CSOs.
  • Promote establishment of functioning national networks in the area of advocacy & campaigning in Burundi.
  • Represent WVB in international events related to global, regional and national campaigns themes
  • Engage and support in national strategy development, execution and measurement processes including the CVA database of WV Burundi.
