SUMMARY: The Piping Foreman is responsible for the leading a team to layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial production and processing systems, applying knowledge of system operation, and following blueprints. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Lead a crew of pipefitters and welders, providing guidance, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project requirements. Must be able to interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents to guide pipefitting work. Must have strong knowledge of pipefitting materials, tools and equipment, including cutting, threading, and joining pipes. Assisting in the training of less experienced pipefitters and providing guidance on best practices. Must be able to demonstrate comprehension of Mechanical piping systems such as supply and return, equipment flues and ventilation, system isolation and equipment protection. Must be competent in piping methods including brazing, soft soldering, gluing, and heat fusion Promote and enforce safe work practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety regulations. Must have familiarity in different welding processes, such as Arc welding (SMAW), Tungsten Inert Gas welding (TIG/GTAW), and Oxy-Acetylene welding and cutting. Layout and fabricate various piping systems Pre-plan and schedule work processes Select type and size of pipe, and related materials and equipment, such as supports, and hangers according to specifications Familiar with various welding/piping techniques best practices Supervise and lead others. Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications. Identify and resolve issues that arise during project. Ensure that project schedule deadlines. Competent in best rigging practices for setting commercial HVAC equipment Must Keep all daily paperwork updated - safety report and project completion forms Communicate with Superintendents, Project Managers and Engineering Team regarding project progress and details. Assemble and install variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic Represent Brady in face-to-face communications with customers and subcontractors Must be able to work at heights from a ladder or aerial work platform Follow all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Assists other team members with job duties as necessary Ability to travel to customer locations Ability to work weekends and/or evenings as necessary SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: (Project Based) Directly supervises field team during project. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
