Location Address: 1002 Weis Remote Road Job Description: Leads district Asset Protection (AP), Safety, and Shrink Reduction strategies through strong field leadership, data-driven decision making, and cross-functional partnerships. Drives results through Organized Retail Crime (ORC) investigations, internal case resolution, operational compliance, and safety execution. Influences store and field leadership to improve profitability, reduce risk, and enhance customer and associate experience. This position is responsible for locations throughout Maryland. Specific locations consist of: Baltimore, Bel Air, Dundalk, Essex, Hampstead, Havre De Grace, Nottingham, Owings Mills, Parkville, Perry Hall, Towson, Reisterstown and Westminster, MD and requires on-site presence. The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned: Provide support and guidance to stores and recommend strategies to reduce losses and increase profitability. Proactively identify district safety and shrink opportunities and create/implement plans for improvement. Use exception-based reporting systems to identify dishonesty, profit erosion and shrink opportunities. Conduct dishonest associate related investigations and interviews. Develop and execute ORC strategies across the district and drive external case productivity. Act as a liaison between Weis Markets and local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. Professionally represent Weis Markets in court hearings and mediations. Actively provide guidance and support to stores regarding emergency situations and critical incidents. Review Store Operational Audit results and initiate improvement strategies. Enforce policies and procedures professionally and with impact, through consistent accountability practices. Collaborate with business partners to drive results and achieve company goals. Foster a culture of profitable selling through training, development and leadership. Supervise store physical inventory process, evaluate store results and initiate appropriate actions to reduce shrink. Ensure store compliance with Federal and State regulations and direct stores on corrective actions to be taken. Ensure AP technology is operational and physical security guidelines executed to reduce or prevent shrink. Effectively manage time and scheduling to best suit the company's needs. Execute the company safety program in partnership with corporate leadership. Responsible for key P&L categories relating to Asset Protection and expense control. Reduce cash shortage and conduct investigations as needed. Ensure execution of Merchandise Protection Standards (MPS) to prevent shrink. Orchestrate public safety functions and physical security for new store openings, remodels and special events. Supervisory Responsibilities This position directly supervises up to twelve (12) Retail Crime Investigators (RCIs) and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Weis Markets policies and applicable laws. RCI Team size is market specific. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints. To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required: Education & Experience Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) plus three (3) years supervisory work experience in Asset Protection, Physical Security or Law Enforcement; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
