• Assigned workspace in the Malta office

• Overseeing daily operations of the transaction monitoring team, ensuring alignment with SLAs, KPIs, and quality standards
• Managing, coaching, and mentoring Analysts and Senior Analysts while fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Conducting regular QA reviews and providing structured performance feedback and development plans
• Ensuring timely review and clearance of transaction monitoring alerts in line with regulatory expectations
• Driving operational efficiency by identifying and implementing process improvements and enhancements
• Coordinating resource planning, workflow distribution, and team utilization with senior management
• Developing, monitoring, and enhancing KPIs, dashboards, and reporting metrics
• Maintaining strong knowledge of AML/CTF regulations (UK, EU, FATF) and applying them effectively in daily operations
• Supporting escalations, investigations, and SAR-related activities in collaboration with MLRO/DMLRO
• Delivering technical training sessions to strengthen team expertise in AML frameworks and typologies
• Contributing to compliance projects, including system enhancements, policy updates, and framework improvements
• Partnering with Compliance leaders to assess the impact of strategic initiatives on monitoring controls
• Leading change implementation and communication across the team to ensure consistent adoption
• Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on transaction monitoring matters
• Preparing and presenting management information (MI) and risk reports to senior leadership forums
• Monitoring regulatory developments and industry trends to adapt monitoring strategies
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance systems, controls, and processes
• Promoting innovation through data analytics and automation initiatives
• Qualifications & Skills
• Proven leadership experience (minimum 2+ years managing teams)
• 5+ years of experience in AML/CTF compliance or financial crime
• Strong expertise in transaction monitoring, screening, and escalations
• Ability to manage operational workflows, SLAs, and drive process improvements
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• AML certifications (ACAMS, ICA) - preferred
• Experience with reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) - nice to have
