Job title: Senior R&D Engineer Nanotechnology Business unit: Development and manufacturing Division: UHPC Department: Nanotechnology 1. Purpose of job 1.1. Research and Developmentof (Nano-engineered) ultra high performance Concrete products for building andinfrastructure applications. . Primary duties and responsibilities 2.1.To assist in research and development of (nano-engineered) ultra high performance concrete products (UHPC) for building applications. 2.2.To actively participate in all product/system assigned activities (from mix design to R&D to commercialization). 2.3.To help evaluate and optimize construction materials e.g. cement, sand, supplementary contentious materials into various UHPC formulations. 2.4.To perform various laboratory tests related to concrete properties measurements (mechanical and durability testing etc.). 2.5.To perform laboratory and on-site work. 2.6.To be responsible for assigned lab equipment and tools. 2.7.To provide daily work progress update to management. 2.8.To participate in weekly UHPC team meetings and local/overseas discussions aimed at project planning, troubleshooting and other. 2.9.To perform UHPC mixing and/or casting activities outside regular place of work when necessary. 2.10.To understand and implement testing standards and participate in new in-house SOP preparation work. 2.11.To ensure safe workplace and follow personal safety rules at all times without any compromise. 2.12.To report results on time and seek advice from supervisor immediately if any dispute in the results. 2.13.To understand and apply troubleshoot procedures if any issues with equipment or workplace. 2.14.To participate in continuous laboratory improvement activities. 2.15.To undertake other tasks assigned by management. 2.16.To keep physically fit and be able to carry 20kg weights. Education and experience 3.1.A Degree of Engineering in Civil/Structure, Material Science or Chemical studies / fresh graduates with keen interest in concrete R&D. 3.2.At least 1-2 years of relevant working experience. Experience in concrete mixture and concrete development is preferred. 3.3.Responsible, attentive to details, hardworking, team player, positive attitude.
