Job Description The Director, Project Management is responsible for leading one or more complex and/or high-profile cross-functional development teams, ensuring delivery of project objectives across research, development, and commercial functions. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring efficient execution, cross-functional alignment, and successful delivery of development programs, while enabling robust governance and informed decision-making at senior leadership levels. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with 12+ years of relevant experience; or Master's degree (MS, MBA) with 10+ years of relevant experience; or Doctorate (PhD, PharmD, DVM, MD) with 6+ years of relevant experience. Minimum of 7 years of participation in cross-functional project management activities across various stages of drug development. Demonstrated line management supervisory experience is desirable. Prior experience managing commercial teams is preferred. Strong scientific background is mandatory with the ability to engage effectively across technical and strategic topics. Key Job Responsibilities Responsible for managing one or more highly complex and/or high-profile project teams in the Inflammation Therapeutic Area (TA) or other TAs, as needed. Works in partnership with project leaders to ensure efficient and effective team meetings and appropriate execution on development activities between meetings. Directs project communications and ensures that stakeholders are informed of key project activities, status, and risks. Organizes Project Management support for various functional areas on the Project; attends subteam meetings; organizes and facilitates ad hoc working groups, as needed. Leads the development and maintenance of Integrated Project Plans (IPPs), ensuring alignment across scope, timelines, and resources. Ensures project execution complies with established processes, policies and standards. Proactively works the project team to identify and manage risks and issues, implementing mitigations and contingency plans to support achievement of strategic goals and objectives. Contributes to the research, development and commercial project strategies. Organizes preparation of materials for strategic decision-making and represents the Project Team at the Development Review Committee (DRC) and other governance forums, as needed. Leads Global Program Management (GPM) departmental initiatives and working groups to address complex operational challenges and enhance processes. May be responsible for supervising one or more Project Management Associates. May substitute for or function as a Project Lead. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
