Position Overview: The Cook is an essential part of the healing journey, preparing and serving food that supports recovery from eating disorders. Collaborating closely with the culinary and nutrition teams, you'll prepare high-quality dishes according to standardized menus and recipes, designed not only for nourishment but to meet the specific needs of each client's recovery. Your role goes beyond traditional cooking-every meal is an opportunity to restore balance, support healing, and help clients regain physical and mental well-being. Schedule : Full Time 1.0 FTE, (40hrs/wk), working Tuesdays and Wednesdays 1:00-9:00pm, Thursdays 12:00-8:00pm, Fridays and Saturdays 7:00-3:00pm. Location RTP Inpatient and Residential Treatment Center for Children, Adolescents, and Adults 4024 Stirrup Creek Drive, Suite 200, Durham NC 27703 Click here to learn more about our RTP Treatment Center Compensation Disclosure Starting hourly range between $18.00 - 20.00 Hourly Final Compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position How Cooks Empower Recovery Prepare and serve food/beverages according to standardized menus, recipes, portions, and nutrition orders. Ensure culinary practices and prepared food/beverages comply with regulations (i.e., food code, HIPPA), internal policies, and nutrition orders (e.g., standardized menu/recipes, therapeutic diets). Collaborate with the culinary and nutrition team to ensure consistency, accuracy, safety, and adherence to nutrition orders. Maintain organization and cleanliness in culinary and dining areas, addressing issues promptly. Ensure punctuality and attendance for shifts, prioritizing client care and efficient time management. Provide coverage for other culinary roles when needed. Maintain professional boundaries with clients and their communities of support (e.g., parents, partners). Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and labeling, as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Professional Qualifications: 1 year of cooking experience in a medium-volume kitchen. Able to read and interpret dietary instructions. 1 year of healthcare culinary service experience, including adherence to standardized menus, recipes, and therapeutic diets preferred. Other Qualifications: Valid driver's license and authorization to drive preferred. Employees at Inpatient/Residential sites in MN, OH, and WA are required to have a current Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire. Employees at Inpatient/Residential sites in MN, OH, and WA are required to have a current First Aid certification within 30 days of hire. Site-specific food safety certification from an accredited program (e.g., ServSafe) is required within 30 days of hire.
