About the role
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PROJECT MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Production Resources Department (Code 900) under the Production Facilities and Equipment Manager (Code 900F), in the Temp Facilities and Equipment Manager (Code 900F1), Facilities Management (Code 900F13), of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying a comprehensive range of principles, concepts and practices concerning environmental management, hazardous material spill response, dry dock operations, shipyard work operations, control system requirements, trade, and shop practices. Experience directing and managing the accomplishment of all phases of a work package involving direction through trade oversight. Experience communicating, both orally and in writing, to resolve problems and issues between shipyard departments and a wide variety of officials external to the shipyard. Experience investigating and analyzing practices and problems to initiate effective improvements and solutions. Experience analyzing, evaluating, and adjusting project resources, work operation equipment, and facilities against current and future scheduled work requirements. Experience in project management, quality control, cost control, schedule control and workflow control techniques.
