Plant Helper

Responsibilities

• Cleaning plant equipment and facilities.
• Preparation and painting of plant equipment and facilities.
• Transfer chemicals, supplies, and equipment as directed.
• Perform landscaping tasks as directed.
• Remove snow and ice accumulation.
• Assist in rigging for plant activities.
• Building and dismantling scaffolds, platforms, and temporary structures.
• When assigned to work as required to assist Mechanics (Electrical, Machinist, and Welder) in the full range of maintenance work.
• Operate powered equipment associated with these tasks.
• Perform all other unskilled plant tasks as directed.
• Properly drive a motor vehicle when directed or when required to perform his/her duties.
• On an as needed basis, to serve in any other plant activity for which he/she is trained.
• SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and maintain complete understanding of all facets of the plant emergency program and plant security system. To react as appropriate in the protection of the public in case of an operational emergency. To serve as an active participant in these programs.
• EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• A high school diploma or have passed a high school examination equivalency.
• Passing scores on the GPPB (General Power Plant Battery Test).
• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Pass Callaway Plant access requirements, including medical exams.
• Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. The Company will provide reasonable accommodation in appropriate circumstances when consistent with applicable law.
• Hourly Pay:
• Grade Step OA 129 Step 1 of 1 (Top Step) - 43.53 USD
