Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting for an experienced Workforce Development Officer to join its client in Bolton, supporting workforce development, learning, and career progression across Children's Services. What will your responsibilities be? As a Workforce Development Officer for our client in Bolton, you will: Coordinate and support workforce entry and career progression pathways, including the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE), apprenticeships, student placements, Practice Educator programmes, and Return to Social Work initiatives. Deliver reflective individual and group supervision to Newly Qualified Social Workers and Apprentices in line with programme requirements. Support the delivery, development, and evaluation of the ASYE programme, including portfolio support, direct observations, and final assessment reports. Undertake direct observations of practice for ASYE and Apprentice cohorts to support professional development and progression. Mentor apprentices and work closely with universities and skills coaches to facilitate work-based learning and assessment requirements. Support the development of a positive learning culture across Children's Services through mentoring, coaching, and workforce engagement activities. Assist in the delivery of the Practice Educator programme, including supporting Practice Educators, quality assuring portfolios, and providing advice regarding student placements. Coordinate and deliver Children's Services induction programmes for new starters. Support recruitment activities, including assessment centres, careers fairs, awareness events, and promotional activities. Contribute to the delivery of Bolton's workforce development strategy, retention initiatives, and career progression pathways. Champion Bolton Children's Services Practice Approach, Practice Standards, and Corporate Values across the workforce. Support the delivery of workforce training needs analysis and contribute to the development of learning and training opportunities. Promote and support relational and restorative approaches to practice. Monitor and support the completion of Personal Development Reviews (PDRs), including quality assurance and dip sampling activity. Work collaboratively with managers, practitioners, universities, and partner organisations to support workforce development and continuous improvement. Qualifications and Experience: Social Work England registration. Eligible to work in the UK. Hold a full UK driving licence. Degree level qualification in Social Work (Dip SW/CQSW or equivalent). Extensive post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care. Experience of supporting professional staff to deliver high-quality social work practice. Strong knowledge of childcare legislation, safeguarding procedures, and evidence-based practice.
