The Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board (FRTIB) is looking for a highly qualified and motivated individual to serve as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Security Architect). These qualifications are typically gained through experience in the information technology field or through work where information technology is the primary focus. Required Competencies In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement below, your experience must demonstrate the following competencies at the proficiency levels indicated. Your experience must demonstrate all four of the following areas. Experience in only some of these areas is not sufficient to meet the minimum qualification requirement for this position. Federal experience is not required - equivalent private sector, contractor, or military experience will be evaluated on the same basis. Your experience must include all of the following: a) approving the security design and implementation of enterprise technology solutions to ensure systems meet security requirements and support organizational objectives; b) developing security architectures for enterprise systems and networks to support secure operations across complex technology environments; c) evaluating cybersecurity risks, conducting security reviews, identifying gaps in security controls, and recommending corrective actions to improve organizational security posture; and d) overseeing cybersecurity projects, contractor performance, or technology service delivery efforts to ensure successful implementation of security requirements and achievement of organizational goals. Your resume must clearly describe the specific duties you performed, your level of responsibility, and the timeframe of your experience in each of the four areas above. Responses that cannot be verified by your resume may result in a lower rating or an ineligibility determination. *Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
