This is a senior strategic and hands-on UX role for someone who can move fluidly from insight to execution: research, usability testing, experience strategy, sitemaps, personas, wireframes, prototypes, functional annotations, development partnership, staging QC, and client-ready strategic reporting. This person will sit at the intersection of customer experience strategy, UX, interface and interaction design, healthcare communications, creative, technology, content, analytics, media, SEO/GEO, and emerging technologies. They will help teams design modern, unified experiences for HCPs, patients, caregivers, consumers, and other healthcare stakeholders across websites, CRM/RTE emails, banners, overlays, formulary tools, launch assets, landing pages, and connected digital ecosystems. Title : VP Experience Strategy (UX) Location : Remote Department/Discipline : Customer Experience Strategy / Experience Strategy, with a specialty in UX, interface, and interaction design Background The Freelance VP Experience Strategy (UX) partners with healthcare clients and cross-functional agency teams to design audience-centric experiences that are useful, usable, accessible, measurable, and ready to build. This role is responsible for turning research, analytics, strategic inputs, brand objectives, and customer needs into practical experience direction, then carrying that direction through journey maps, ecosystem plans, sitemaps, wireframes, interaction models, prototypes, functional annotations, development collaboration, and quality control. In addition to a strong background in UX strategy, CX strategy, experience design, service design, or a related digital experience role, this person should have a keen interest in emerging technologies, AI-enabled workflows, agentic orchestration, intelligent design systems, and modern ways of improving research, strategy, documentation, prototyping, and handoff. Responsibilities
- Experience vision and strategy : Define and champion customer experience vision, UX principles, and strategic frameworks across brand-level engagements, ensuring experiences balance user needs, business goals, medical accuracy, regulatory requirements, and measurable value.
- Research, testing, and insight : Plan, conduct, and/or moderate qualitative and quantitative user research and usability testing, then translate findings, analytics, customer insights, and stakeholder input into clear recommendations and client-ready reports.
- Journey and ecosystem planning : Guide customer journey mapping, ecosystem planning, omnichannel experience mapping, information architecture, and experience architecture across digital and connected touchpoints.
- UX and interaction design : Develop sitemaps, user flows, personas, page schematics,level-twointeraction design, wireframes, prototypes, and form/tool flows for HCP, patient, caregiver, and consumer experiences.
- Functional documentation : Write and review functional annotations, functional requirements, URL matrices, responsive behavior notes, interaction rules, staging review notes, and development-ready UX specifications.
- Operationalizing insight : Move insights out of decks and into delivery by translating recommendations into wireframes, design guidance, prototypes, annotations, buildable requirements, and downstream QA criteria.
