The university currently has over 16,000 students and more than 2,900 faculty and staff members, organized into three faculties: the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, and the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. The CAU-UOS Joint Institute is a joint education institute between China Agricultural University (CAU) and University of Surrey (UOS) and will begin enrollment in September, 2026. It offers three undergraduate programs in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Electronic Engineering, each admitting 100 students annually. The Institute follows a 4+0 dual-degree model, enabling students to earn degrees from both universities while studying entirely in China. www.cau.edu.cn surrey.ac.uk Responsibilities: Teach two to four ESL courses per year in Academic Writing, Academic Communication, etc. on the east campus of CAU Advise and mentor students Participate in college activities Requirement : Master's or Ph.D. degree in English or a closely related discipline, received from a reputable university Ideally, at least two years of college-level teaching experience English native speakers English teaching certification, e.g. TEFL, CELTA, OR TESOL Open to cultural differences Good communication skills Compensation and Benefits: £30,000-£52,000 (before tax) per year commensurate with rank, background and experience, in accordance with teaching hours and working load. Salary will be paid in RMB (Chinese currency) to a local bank account Housing options: free guesthouse room, or off-campus apartment for rent with housing subsidy Excellent teaching award and bonus (based on merit) International travel subsidy Medical insurance covering hospitals serving the international community in Beijing Free Chinese class Visa support Luxury University term holiday, summer holiday runs from July to August, and four weeks' winter holidays around Chinese New Year.
