AutoStore is seeking a System Safety Compliance Engineer with solid expertise and interest in product safety to join our growing R&D organization. In this role, you will help ensuring that safety is an integral part of our product design , from early concept through industrialization and global market release. You will work closely with system architects, hardware, software, and mechanical / electrical engineers in our R&D, as well as with external certification bodies, and act as a technical authority for product safety and regulatory compliance . The position is ideal for someone with compliance experience who wants to develop further within product safety and functional safety Key Tasks and Responsibilities. Act as product safety and compliance contributor within R&D projects, ensuring safety principles are embedded in system architecture and detailed design. Participate in risk assessments and safety analyses (e.g. hazard analysis, risk reduction measures) for complex electromechanical and automated systems. Interpret and apply international product safety standards and regulations (CE, EN, IEC, ISO, NRTL) in practical engineering context. Provide hands‑on technical guidance to engineering teams during development, design reviews, and change management. Contribute to the product safety and compliance strategy across the product lifecycle, including development, verification, and market access. Interface with external test laboratories, notified bodies, and authorities to secure approvals and certifications. Support Product Management, Sales, and Operations with expert input on safety and regulatory matters for global market access. Key Qualifications. 5+ years of experience as an engineer in product development, system engineering, or safety‑critical design within manufacturing, machinery, automation, or industrial equipment Minimum 3 years' experience in product compliance, with solid knowledge of CE conformity assessment procedure within the EU; experience with other markets is an advantage. Relevant higher education or equivalent experience in electrical/electronics, machinery, software engineering, or a related technical field Solid technical background in electrical, mechanical, systems, or software engineering. Experience performing risk assessments and contributing to safety concept development for complex products. Ability to translate regulatory requirements into robust, engineer‑friendly design solutions. Experience in Global Market Access for machinery and electrical equipment; familiarity with Chemical/Material Compliance is an advantage.
