About the role

You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the Public Affairs and Outreach Directorate (N01P), Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command (COMUSFLTFORCOM) in Norfolk, Virginia, of COMMANDER US FLEET FORCES COMMAND. GS-13 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Expertise in developing and executing digital media strategies, including managing websites, social media platforms, and other mass communication technologies to disseminate information to a global audience. Experience in web design and development, including content management systems (CMS), HTML, and ensuring compliance with Section 508 and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Experience in creating a wide range of public affairs materials, including press releases, articles, and visual content, and to provide strategic communication support during exercises and crisis operations. Experience in conducting media monitoring and analysis to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies, identify information gaps, and counter misinformation. Experience in policies and regulations governing the dissemination of public information.
