We are seeking a part-time Nurse Supervisor to work in a supportive environment with an award-winning employer. The Nurse Supervisor supervises and coordinates nursing services within the Life Centre to ensure high standards of clinical practice care to residents within Regulatory and Mather guidelines. Assumes supervisory and administrative duties in the absence of the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing. Two 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides direct clinical oversight and supervision of nursing staff (RN, LPN, CNA); determines resident physical, mental, and emotional status and implements any required nursing intervention; Responsible for Skilled Nursing operations. Provides staff development and training to newly onboarded team members. Ensures that competencies are complete and reviewed. Works in conjunction with other nurse management to meet Federal, State and Mather policies and procedures regarding training and development. Coordinates, monitors and manages the quality and outcomes of resident care; Reviews medication records for completeness, accuracy in the transcription of healthcare provider orders, and adherence to stop-order policies. Maintains regular communications with residents, family members and staff and provides resident and family education and counseling. Interactions with team members, residents, resident representatives, and guests will reflect Mather's commitment to inclusivity. Participates in resident care conferences; Reviews resident plans of care for appropriate goals and approaches and making revisions based on individual needs. Is competent in acting in emergency situations based on Safety Manual, Internal and External Emergency Preparedness and other policies. Assures a safe environment through adherence to all Federal, State and Mather policies and procedures related to staffing, incident reporting, safety and risk management. Performs clinical and technical aspects of care according to established policies, protocols, standards of care and practice, regulatory mandates, and within limits of the State Nurse Practice Act. Applies the concepts of the Mather Wellness Model and the 3 A's in the care of residents, Achievement, Autonomy, and Affiliation. Selects, develops, manages performance of staff to ensure high level of resident care; may delegate nursing care responsibilities to nursing team members. Supports efficient operations of nursing department through hands on nursing and/or assuming administrative duties in absence of Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing. Keeps the director of nursing services, informed of the status of residents and other related matters. Provides supervision and evaluates performance of nursing team members. Maintains gerontologic nursing competencies and increases personal growth and development through formal and informal education programs. Participates in "on call" requirements. Responsible for covering shifts as a staff nurse, when required. Participates in the quality assessment/process improvement program. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: Required: Current State RN license Effective leadership skills Able to problem solve and set goals with resident and customer- focused approach CPR/AED certification Preferred: Minimum 2 years geriatric nursing experience Restorative Certification Prior nurse supervisor experience
