About the role

We are a diverse and focused team motivated to solve the hardest problems in the automotive industry through machine learning. We are developing an end-to-end machine learning platform to empower automakers to build safer, smarter, and personalized vehicles. As a DevOps Engineer, you will work to automate processes, make sure systems are secure, reliable, and scalable.

Responsibilities

  • Automate configuration of production systems
  • Ensure that data is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • Ensure that data is backed up on a regular basis and that the backups work
  • Ensure that the production environment is observable
  • Ensure that principles of least access are followed
  • Ensure that we are using our production resources in a cost effective manner
  • Ensure compliance
  • Keep production systems up-to-date with minimum amount of downtime

Requirements

  • Bias for automation
  • Familiar with Microsoft Azure cloud computing platform (knowing AWS is a bonus)
  • Proficient in managing/deploying cloud-native infrastructure as code (Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, Puppet, etc.)
  • Proficient in managing Kubernetes resources (Helm, Kustomize, kubectl, etc.)
  • Understanding of GitOps patterns (Argo CD, Flux, Crossplane)
  • Proficient in building Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines (GitHub Actions, Concourse, Argo Workflows, etc.)
  • Proficient in Database Management (Postgres, MySQL, etc.)
  • Security and Privacy Responsibilities
  • Member of the CSIRT Team
  • Follow our policy and procedure documents related to security and privacy
  • Follow the guidelines in the Employee Handbook
  • Participate in new hire and annual training for security and privacy
  • Treat data security and privacy as one of your primary job responsibilities
  • Report Security Incidents you discover as bugs
  • Get approval from the Security Team before adding new 3rd party software to our codebase
  • Explicitly consider security implications when doing PR reviews
